Annapolis Local Committees

Communications – the VP of communications always chairs this committee.  As a Local member who is a part of this committee your responsibilities include:

  • Contact the local media when appropriate
  • Promoting teacher image through publicity of programs of local interest

Public Affairs – the VP of Communications always chairs this committee.  As a Local member who is a part of this committee your responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring school board meetings and attending them where possible;
  • Keeping informed about the political climate;
  • Assuming responsibility for Local political awareness and strategies.

This committee also is responsible for the various social functions sponsored by the local.  This committee plans and executes the Annapolis Local Retirement Banquet, the 25 Year Teacher event and also the Welcome Back event each year and is chaired by the VP PA/PR/Communications.
